About Us

Hack for Gävle is organized by Future Position X and their partner Hack for Sweden. Future Position X found out about Hack for Sweden's goal to expand their government mission and decided to be a part of that. Read more about Hack for Sweden's important mission here. The 24 hour hackathon takes place during the weekend, Saturday to Sunday  (15 Feb - 16 Feb 2020) at Clarion Winn City Conference. The hack is free of charge for all participants, food will be provided and a sleeping area will be arranged. Bring your sleeping bag, pillow and mattress along with your laptop and charger.

Who can join?

Are you interested in how data can be used in an innovative way to create smart cities? Or how we can help our society and its inhabitants to develop in a sustainable way using technology? If so, this is the hackathon for you! No special skills are required, for example, programming. We would like you to be a innovative team player with an interest in creating smart cities in a sustainable way. 

Why should I participate?

Hack for Gävle is a great way to challenge yourself and your creativity, but also an excellent opportunity to meet new people and make connections outside of your usual circle. It will definitely be an fun and exciting event regardless of your background and your experience, especially if you want to learn something new. And of course, there will be mighty fine prizes for the winners!

Team formation

If you already have a team, you will be able to participate with them. For those who don't have a team, we will help you to find one on Saturday morning after the case presentation.. So don't worry and just join us!

Venue

The venue is located in the city center of Gävle at Norra Slottsgatan 6, 803 20 Gävle. If you arrive by train, it's a 7 minute walk from Gävle Central Station! The venue is accessible by stairs or elevator.

Food and Drinks

Vegetarian food and soft drinks will be provided during the hackathon. If you have any allergies, please let us know in your registration form!

He also has a keen interest in IoT, VR and AR and what opportunities it can bring for the smart city.
